The Spirit Award Dinner began in 2004 to recognize individuals who have supported the efforts of the McNabb Center and Helen Ross McNabb Foundation, and have worked selflessly to improve lives in their community.
The Helen Ross McNabb Foundation organizes special events each year to raise awareness and financial support for the McNabb Center. These events are embraced and supported by the local businesses and community volunteers!

We are pleased to host the third annual McNabb Center Golf Tournament at Council Fire. The tournament includes lunch at 11:30 a.m. and will feature a 1 p.m. shotgun start.
Please join us for one of East Tennessee’s premier golf events, and support programs and services provided by the McNabb Center, which serves thousands of children, adults and families in our community.
The Big BBQ Bash is a Kansas City Barbeque Society (KCBS) sanctioned competition. KCBS sanctions barbecue and grilling competitions across the U.S. and promotes barbecue as America’s cuisine.
This summer, get in the holiday spirit as we kick off the Christmas in July Toy Drive to benefit the McNabb Center’s Dear Santa program. Help us stock up for children and families in need this holiday season.
The 2025 Russell Biven Clayfest, presented by Centriworks and Cherokee Distributing, in memory of Herb Ogle, will take place at Iron Mountain Sporting Clays. Join us for an awesome day of shooting clays!
An evening of Hope celebrates individuals who advance the McNabb Center’s mission of “improving the lives of the people we serve” while raising funds to support the Jail to Work and Recovery Housing program in Hamblen County.
For more than 20 years, the Center has provided holiday gifts for children up to 18 years of age through the Dear Santa program. Children in need served by the Center and their siblings receive donated gifts.
Scenic City Sporting Clays is back! The Scenic City Sporting Clays Tournament benefits the McNabb Center, a premier nonprofit provider of behavioral health care in East Tennessee.
Sunset Shenanigans Cosmic Drive & Putt Challenge is a one-of-a-kind event in East Tennessee that benefits the McNabb Center. Teams of 4 participate in a cosmic target golf challenge and a cosmic putting contest.
The Knoxville Challenger is a USTA pro-circuit event for rising professional tennis stars to enable them to earn ATP points and has a proven track record of drawing the new wave of top tennis athletes.
The Beth Haynes 12 Days of Christmas is a fun, online auction that benefits children and families served by the McNabb Center! Funds raised through the auction help more than 2,500 children and families with needs during the holiday season and throughout the year.
The Breakthrough Gala is a one-of-a-kind collaboration between local artists and McNabb Center clients. Ten dynamic duos have been selected to share in the joy and therapeutic power of creating art together. These pairings highlight the rich diversity of both our McNabb Center clients and Chattanooga’s vibrant art scene.
