Knox Women's Recovery Housing

Tennessee is among the hardest-hit states when it comes to the opioid epidemic. Across the state, approximately 70,000 people struggle with opioid use disorder, and the East Tennessee region has the highest opioid consumption rate in Tennessee.

The Helen Ross McNabb Foundation is launching a capital campaign to raise $2.5 million to build a Recovery Housing facility in Knox County. These funds will be used to build a 7 2-bedroom unit facility for women that are post treatment from drug and alcohol use. The program promotes recovery of women who have a substance use disorder and consists of a drug-free living environment, substance abuse treatment, mental health treatment, work placement and reentry skills building. The goals of the program are to reduce relapse, increase community tenure through work, transitional housing, recovery and reintegration into the community.
